Guests ask the same questions every day: the Wi-Fi password, breakfast times, the room service menu, how to get to the airport. A QR code in each room answers them before they reach the front desk. Make the main code dynamic and you can update the guide, the menu or the offers without reprinting a single card. QRfinity’s codes are free and never expire.

One guest guide, updated any time

Print one dynamic code on the room card or the TV stand and point it at your guest guide: a web page, a PDF or a Google Doc. When the spa hours change or there’s a new offer, edit the guide or point the code somewhere new from your dashboard. Every room is up to date at once.

Where to put codes

  • Room cards and TV stands: 3 to 4 cm, at eye level when sitting.
  • Lifts and lobby: 10 to 15 cm, for scanning while walking past.
  • Key card wallets: 2.5 cm on the inside flap.
  • Restaurant tables: 3 cm on a table tent; see the restaurant page.

Count what guests use

Each dynamic code shows its own scans by day and hour, devices and countries. Use separate codes for the room card, the lift and the restaurant to see which ones guests actually use. We don’t store anyone’s IP address.

Keep codes trustworthy

Guests should never wonder if a code is genuine. Print codes into your cards and signs rather than on stickers, show your hotel name beside them, and check public ones regularly. See protecting QR codes from tampering.

What does it cost?

Static and dynamic codes, scan analytics and PNG and JPG downloads are free, and codes never expire. Plans from $5 a month add print-ready SVG, PDF and EPS files and advanced features on more codes. See pricing.

Questions people ask

Is it safe to put the Wi-Fi password in a QR code?

For the guest network, yes: anyone who can see the code is a guest you’d give the password to anyway. Keep staff and back-office networks off printed codes.

Can one code in every room show different information?

Each code opens one page, so most hotels use the same guest guide in every room. If rooms differ, make a dynamic code per room type; they’re free, with no limit.

What happens when the menu or the guide changes?

With a dynamic code, update the destination or the page it opens, and every printed code in every room follows. Nothing is reprinted.

Can I ask for reviews with a QR code?

Yes. Point a code at your Google review page and put it at check-out or on the key card wallet. Ask everyone the same way, without offering anything in return, to stay within review sites’ rules.

Do QR codes in holiday rentals work the same way?

Yes. A Wi-Fi code by the router and a dynamic code to the house guide cover most guest questions, and you can update the guide between stays.
